New Ross -- Messer B. Powell, well known farmer of near New Ross, died at his home Friday night after an illness lasting several months. Mr. Powell was born in this County, December 24, 1856, and had resided on the farm where he died for the past 32 years. His death occurred at 11:30 o'clock. Mr. Powell was united in marriage November 26, 1882 with Mary J. Conner, who passed away July 27, 1913. He was a member of the New Ross Chistian Church and for several years had lived in Boone County. Surviving are 2 brothers, John Powell, of New Ross, and Elmer Powell, of Crawfordsville. Three brothers and 2 sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at the New Ross Christian Church on Monday afternoon at two o'clock with the Rev. Enos Dowling of Advance, officiating. Burial will be made at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. - kbz
